A while ago, the Change and Transport System (CTS) of ABAP has been enhanced so that it can be used for transporting non-ABAP objects as well (known as CTS+ or enhanced CTS).In this guide, you can find information on how to use CTS together with SAP HANA SPS 09, 10 and 11. With this release and a CTS system which contains at least CTS_PLUG SPS 14, you can now also configure CTS+ without an AS Java.

Limitation in Report name length for translated reports when using Translation Manager

$
0
0

Platform BOE 4.1 on Windows

There is a limit of 90 characters for the SI_Name of an object to be translated using Translation Manager.

When an object is first published to BOE, the name of the object in the input filestore is set to a combination of the internal ids of object in the CMS database.  When the object is exported from translation manager back to the CMS, the name of the object in the filestore becomes the si_name of the object and the guid.

If the si_name exceeds the 90 character limit, the filename in the CMS will not match the name of the file in the input FRS.  When a user tries to run the report, the report can not be accessed and the object appears to be corrupt.

If this happens,

  • go to the filepath shown under the object properties and get the file
You may need another resource to get the file if you do not have access to the server
  • Open the object in the design tool
  • Republish the object to the CMS.
  • Before using Translation Manager, shorten the name to be less than 90 characters.
  • DO NOT DELETE the un-accessible object until it has been republished.

0

This tutorial will go over how to create a custom C Adapter that will work with either HANA smart data streaming or Streaming Lite. In the testing section, the custom C Adapter will be executed on a remote device, and will send data into a Streaming Lite project running on that same device. It is up to the custom C Adapter to poll any available hardware sensors for values.

The custom C Adapter will be created using the C SDK, and built using a makefile which we will provide. In this document, we will be building an adapter to feed data into the Freezer Monitoring Lite project. The purpose of this tutorial is to show how to create your own custom C Adapter given a specific schema.

The C Adapter is created from the HANA smart data streaming (“SDS”) C SDKs, and sends rows of data into a currently running Streaming Lite project on the same device. It also has the ability to take in hardware input, and vary the rate and total quantity of data sent.

This document describes the SAP Landscape Virtualization Management scenarios with Linux on Power. For other IBM platforms refer to the parent document IBM On-Premise Cloud Configuration for SAP.

IBM PowerVC is the infrastructure management offering, built on OpenStack, that delivers advanced virtualization and storage management on IBM Power Systems. OpenStack technology has evolved as industry standard for infrastructure-as-a-service management. This technology has been made available for SAP on IBM Power environments by supporting PowerVC with SAP Landscape Virtualization Management.

SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems is supported for all scenarios and configurations described here.

Virtualization scenarios:

The following virtualization scenarios are supported with any type of storage and storage attachment:

Use CaseDescriptionDependencies

End-to-end monitoring and visualization

Show virtualization topology, server and virtualization configuration, and utilization metrics

IBM PowerVC

OS and SAP monitoring

SAP host agent

Operations

Activate/ Deactivate, shutdown virtual system (logical partition)

IBM PowerVC

Relocate virtual system (live partition mobility)

IBM PowerVC

Provisioning

Provision new virtual system from image

IBM PowerVC

Storage scenarios:

The following storage-related scenarios are supported:

Use CaseDescriptionDependencies

SAP Relocate

Relocate SAP instance or database including storage attachment

SVC, V7000, XIV, FlashSystem

(NPIV or direct attached SAN)

System Clone/Copy/Refresh

Fast offline cloning of database or entire SAP system

System Rename

Rename SAP system and database including user authorization

IBM Spectrum Virtualize (SAN Volume Controller / SVC or Storwize V7000) provides storage virtualization and allows to combine storage systems from multiple vendors. Likewise, IBM FlashSystem models with integrated storage virtualization (V9000, V840) are supported.

SAP scenarios:

  • Automatic Capacity Management including provisioning of additional dialog instances is supported.
  • Post-Copy Automation is supported.

SAP notes and documentation:

What is coming next?

Online cloning with PowerVC is under investigation.

Hi,

This document will be helpful in  a scenario  where we have multiple records with different dates but dimension is same /Getting most recent record in webi using date dimension.

Sample data:

s1.PNG

Here  Emp no 107 has Different date of joins but Emp name and sal same.

By using Rank function we can achieve  most recent record  by  creating  variable as below .

s2.PNG

If you observe Rank has shown 1 ,2 ,3 for 3 different records for Emp 107 as below.

s3.PNG

Now apply filter on rank with 1 then it will Table/output will display only one record with most recent data.
